Layers:
Description: To be used to identify the individual acquisition parcels for property in each preserve. Useful in showing acquisitions by year or in the order in which they were acquired, or to identify a property for which additional information is required. Each line item in the Attribute Table is a separate acquisition, but the boundaries as shown are the current (not original) boundaries. For instance, if the District acquired a 38-acre parcel and four acres were exchanged to Lake County and one acre was dedicated as a ROW, the parcel as depicted would be 33 acres, and the Attribute Table would show a total parcel acreage of 33 acres. Every Forest Preserve District Acquisition is reflected in this layer (unless we have sold/exchanged away the property). The District now consists of 65 sites, including traditional Preserves, three golf courses, the General Offices, stormwater facilities, and the Community Garden.
